Why this costume?
The concept of Vanilla Ice's stand is half the reason why I made this costume. Also I love a dedicated villain. Description: Wig from Aliexpress Bodysuit: I bought a white bodysuit from H&M and dyed it purple with Rit powder dye. I handstitched some multichrome sequin trim to the collar. Vest: I modified a blazer pattern from Mood (Rosemary Blazer) to have a wider opening at the front. I got a holographic black spandex to be extra flashy and it is flatlined with black cotton twill. The bracers are just the spandex. The raised shoulder pieces are spandex stuffed with batting. Accessories: The sash is mix of gold chain, multichrome beads, and a few decorative heart beads. It hooks to the back to the vest to a jump ring and to another one at the back of the belt buckle. The belt is leather that was painted with purple Angelus paint and purple pearl Martha Stewart paint. It closes with metal snaps. The heart buckle and the one used on the sash are also made of leather. CREAM: The puppet is made of cardboard, which is then covered in bristol board and painted with acrylics. To make the joints move is used metal fasteners (duotang prongs) through holes poked through the cardboard. To maneuver the arms I glued yarn to wooden dowels and then to the back of the hands. There is also some fabric taped to the back of the mouth so I can wear it as part of my costume or have it as a background character. |
