Otakuthon 2022 & 2024 - Montréal Why this costume? My pattern of wanted to dress as all the ridiculous Jojo designs continues. This is clearly a low profile outfit for a weekend out on the beach in Italy. Description: Wig from Amazon Hat: I modified on of the hats from a McCalls M7335. I made a few mockups in broad cloths before making a 4 piece pattern with 8 dangling balls. I used stretch black vinyl to match the coat and lined it with cotton till to it more structure. The ball are foam ball covered in worbla and smoothed with light modeling paste and gesso. a hollow cavity was drilled into the top to stuff the hat end into the balls. Belt: I used a holographic black vinyl from Cosplay Fabrics for the belt that is wrapped around Flexifirm (stiff felt) and attaches in the back with a large button. The belt buckle is craft foam covered in Thibra and painted with gold acrylic and a black acrylic dark wash. Jacket: I modified McCall's M7822 jacket pattern. The exterior is made of stretch black vinyl and flat lined with black cotton twill since the vinyl was too light and it needs more structure. There are some shoulder pads to help with the broad shoulder look. The straps and buckles are made with the same materials and techniques as the belt. Accent button are from Mood fabrics. Bracelets/Cuffs from Aliexpress. Pants: I was on the hunt for the right fabric for these for months and finally find the right kind at Fabrics.com. I only 1.5yrs so I only one shot to get it right and I'm so proud with how the stripes align. It zip up the back and has pockets! I used Kwiksew pattern K3363. Shoes: Loafers from Aldo. They are so nice. |
