Otakuthon 2016 - Montreal Katsucon 2017 - Washington Description: Wig: I used a Luthien and two curly clips in Apple Red from Arda Wigs. I airbrushed in some pink highlights with white airbrush paint. It's faint but adds a little dimension to the wig. I loosened up some of the curls on the clips to help it blend into the long base wig. It's the same wig I used for my other Sakizo costume - Cancer. Headpiece: I gathered some silk charmeuse and hand stitched them to a flexifirm (like stiff felt) base along with some hand made pompoms which was then glued to a hair clip. Top: I made a the top with ivory satin backed with an iron on interfacing for extra stiffness for a more structured fit and lined with a polyester fabric. Pompom trim and lace were added to the edges and custom dyed silk chiffon was gathered then added to the bottom of the top. Pompom trim was added along with clear fishing line to ruffle the fabric. The bra was bought from Ardène's and accessories with lace, beads, and ribbons. Bottoms: The base was cream jersey and made strips of silk charmeuse were added for the ruffles. I modified white garter belts to match the artwork by adding some lace trim. Stockings: The base stocking were gradient dyed and a panel of spandex was added on top with ribbons, lace, and sequins. Similar to the headpiece, pompoms were made and attached to a flexifirm base then pinned to the stockings. |
