Why this costume?
Who doesn't like strong independent vampire ladies. I love the characters in Castlevania so any of the vampire women are up my alley. Description: Wig from Amazon Earrings from Ali Express Dress: The base dress was ordered from Ali Express and blue silk taffeta was added to the bottom Collar: I used a pleating foot on some white cotton, then attached it to a wide grosgrain ribbon to make the collar. It attaches in the back with snaps. Also I used a rolled hem foot for the edges. Jacket and sleeves: I modified Mccall's M8134 historical jacket pattern. I used blue silk taffeta backed with twill for extra weight and structure. The trim is some metallic spandex backed with quilting cotton, that is stitched in the ditch to lay flat. The same technique for the collar was used for the ruffles on the wrists. |
