Otakuthon 2026 - Montreal Description: Pants: I followed a tutorial from Tiktok by Shannonmakesorbreaks as a jumping off point since I liked the drape. Then got rid of the opening at the hip from the original look to make it closer to Semiu's design. It has an elastic waist to hold them up but also a another waistband with heavy interfacing, The floating waist band is stitched down in part and tacked down in other to allow the elastic waist to still stretch.I added a fake button up front and the waist band closes with clear snaps. Shoes are from l'Intertervalle. Belts: I went a little overboard and made these out of leather, both belt blanks were dyed they respective colours and I added belt buckles to match. The black belt has a fake belt loop attached to it since it's to heavy to attach to the "fake" floating waist band. Top & sleeves: I used a thick stretch knit in black, actionwear/spandex for the grey panel and attached a metal zipper. The strap detail are worbla attached to match belt loops and the mini patch was made with heat transfer vinyl on spandex + flexifirm, and stitched on like a patch. Collar, Bracelets, & Glasses: The bracelets are wooden curtain ring painted silver with acrylic paint. The glasses were bought off TaoBao and the chains were added from mycollection with jump rings. I had grand plans to paint the collar from the inside but failed miserably so I got plastic tubing from the plumbing section from Home Depot and painted it from the outside with Angelus leather paint and another shorter piece with silver paint on the inside. The smaller piece has a slit cut to slip it over the red piece as a means to put it on or take it off. Wig: I got a curly short wig from Aliexpress and trimmed it down to size with clippers. I would occasionally brush it out as I was going with an afro pick to get rid of cut hair and the fluff it up since the shorter it got the more likely the weft would show. To finish I gave it a steam to set the shape. I also left areas around the hairline a little longer since I have a lot of baby hairs like on my side burns. |
