I was only at G-anime for Saturday but I had a great time.
I spent the morning hanging out in Vickybunnyangel's room getting my costume ready. After doing some running around and errands I got changed. I ran in Elemental shooting my friend Amurita in her Mask salesman costume. We also snapped a few quick photos before I was settled in the greenroom.

I got to hang out Jayuna Cosplay and Kudrel while we waited our turn on  stage. It went smoothly except for a little trip on my way off stage. I wrapped up the day by having dinner with friends. All in all a good day.
See you next year.

CruellaA preview of my Cruella. Photo by geekinked.com
My first convention of the year! This will be brief since I was only at the con for a few hours on Saturday because I had a family event in the evening.

I arrived after 10 o’clock with Cosplay Calamity and I quickly put on the rest of my Cruella costume. Plunge necklines and frigid weather do not work well together. I threw on my heels and my faux fur jacket and realize I forgot my satin gloves. It seems like I am cursed to forget one minor but noticeable costume item at every event I attend for the last few months. I got to say hi to a few friends before running off with Belziir Photography for a shoot.

I got to catch up with more friends and devour a delicious crepe lunch before heading into photoshoot number two with Naredo Cosplay Photography. I wrapped up the afternoon by visiting some friends participating in and organizing the masquerade. I really wish I could have seen it, because I heard some skits were great!

I look forward to seeing the results of the photoshoots since Cruella was a year in the making and I had to restart the costume so many times.

Friday

I have weird friends
_ I have been going to G-Anime since it was created. The team that runs the convention is a dedicated well-organized group of people. I was fortunate to be a Cosplay Guest this year, so I was busy all weekend.

I started my Friday in my Sakura Cosplay running my Cosplay on a budget panel. There was a good turnout, and I hope all the attendees have some new thrifty skills to put to work. The rest of the evening was spent hanging out with friends, there were more than I expected. I wrapped up the day by having a great dinner at the Ardoise restaurant in the hotel.

I spent most of my weekend with my lovely cosplay buddies. You can find their work here: Cosplay Calamity, Thornrose, Dart, Mai Sheri Costumes, Jus de Pomme, and whoever else sends me their info.

Here a quick round up of cosplays I spotted on Friday.

PictureA sneak peek at Karako Nurse vers.
G-Anime was a very easy going convention. I didn't have any big costume plans, nor did I participate in the masquerade, so this will be a short entry.

I rushed to finish up my Karako Nurse costume. I had all the pattern cut out and I finished it on Friday, the first day of the convention. I did not attend the first day, because I was sewing.

Saturday
I spent Saturday going to panels that my friends/cosplay guests were hosting. I watched a bit of VickyBunnyAngel's posing panel and the cosplay guest Q&A which also included my buddy Kudrel.
I had some interesting conversation about the current state of Canadian cosplay and where it is going. I look forward to seeing that develop in the conventions I attend in the future. Sorry if this sounds cryptic, but we covered a lot of topics.
Later on we checked out the masquerade which had some great costumes and some very entertaining skits. There was some good variety too from Aladdin to Team Fortress to Tsubasa Chronicles.
Then my friends and I went out for some yummy sushi for dinner!

Sunday
I went casual for the day, although I still wore a wig. I spent the most of my day hanging out at VickyBunnyAngel and Kudrel's booths. I said my hellos and goodbyes then called it a day.

Here are some costumes that caught my eye over the weekend. Most of these were taken on Sunday.
