 They sneak up on you! It was my first year at Youma and I had a good time. All my misfortunes were not con related, instead it happened whenever I left the convention center. Detroit cabs suck and the Holiday Inn has seen better days.
The convention has the feel of a small convention but had many attendees, which is no surprise that they are expanding to an extra venue next year. I will likely come back next year, so long as I convince a few more friends to attend. We lost a few to various reasons at the last minute. They were missed. Youmacon Highlights: Miss January, creative costumes, cool photos, nice weather, confusing venue, cabby drama, hangouts, and great rave.
