Fire ferrets group!

This was my 8th year at Anime North. There were a few hiccups but hanging out with my best cosplay friends can make anything better. I took tons of photos since I had so much free time not participating in the masquerade this year.

Highlights: lineups, great costumes, the heat, fire ferrets.

Friday

I wore Korra for part of the day and waited in line for 2.5 hours in the sun to get my badge. With 20,000 weekend passes sold they should have had more than 3 people scanning pre-reg barcodes. I'm pretty certain I got heat exhaustion so I had to take it easy for the rest of the day.

Saturday

Thornrose and I. It was a windy day.

I wore Karako in the morning and did a quick shoot with Eleventh Photograph. After doing a quick run in the dealer's room and artist alley, I got changed into Merle, then spent the rest of the day catching up with friends.

I got one hell of a tan from being in the sun all day. I'm just glad my cat stripes bodypaint didn't give me a weird tan on my legs and face.

Rant/
I had a beyond horrible experience at the Sushi Dragon restaurant. We were seated in a corner and forgotten. Twenty minutes later we managed to flag down a waitress to get drinks and order. I had to ask for my drink, a glass of water, at least 3 times although everyone else got theirs. The adjacent table came in after us, ordered after us and left before we got our food. Everyone but myself got food and they finished eating while I waited. After trying to talk to wait staff it took a good ten minutes of arguing with the manager/owner to get my food and best they could offer was half off. I had waited 2 hours by this point so I just took the offer and had the food to-go. I'm never going back.

Evening festivities included a parking lot party and catching up with LaurenTea which greatly made up for the horrible dinner experience.

Sunday

Sunday was Fire Ferrets day. My friends and I were wearing Legend of Korra cosplays which made for some fun antics throughout the day. Zacloudseth was Mako and Rawrchu was Bolin.  We did a shoot with the talented Alucardleashed. I can't wait to see the photos.
