Atalanta - Fate/Aprocrypha
Worn at:
Katsucon 2019 - National Habor, MD
Montreal Comiccon 2019
Description:
Wig: Venus Silky in Beach blonde provided by Arda Wigs. Gradient dyed with fabric dye for a darker/yellower blonde and tips airbrushed green.
Bow: I used insulation foam as the base and carved it to shape then covered it in worbla. The raised gold details are also worbla. The bow breaks into 3 pieces thanks to pvc pipe connectors for easy transport. The center part of the bow is entirely PVC pipe, heated and curved to shape.
Clothing: The small jacket and outer skirt are made with a heavy satin. The spike detail was designed in Photoshop then cut onto iron-on vinyl with a Cricut machine, then heat transferred to the skirt. The collar is made with Cosplay Fabrics ultrapreme with Angelus leather paint for the turquoise details. To add volume, a few layers of crinoline are stitched in, underneath the outer skirt in addition to 1in horsehair braid that was inserted under the black trim.
The corset top is a satin outer layer over top of a twill inner layer. I used spiral steel boning with limited channels since it was mainly to hold the structure rather than create a dramatic shape. The center design was drawn in Photoshop and printed onto graphic T-shirt paper then ironed onto the fabric. In order to match the turquoise detail on the front flap with other elements, this part was hand painted using the same Angelus paint.
Boot covers: These were also made with ultrapreme and painted with Angelus leather paint, this time using a stencil
Tails/Ears: I custom dyed some faux fur. For the ears, the fur covers a craft foam base then glued to a headband. (Note: Some photos will include ears made by Cabbits co) The tail is a foam insulation tube (for plumbing), sprayed with adhesive the covered in the fur. A wire runs through the tube so that it can be poseable. The tail is held on by a belt.
Gloves/Gauntlets: The glove were made with two different coloured spandex and worbla claws were attached with hot glue. The armoured pieces are Worbla overtop of a craft foam base and detailing..
